GAMEPLAY

Vegas stakes is a casino/gambling simulator that allows the player to risk it all in a Las Vegas adventure. You start with $1000 and the aim is to play the tables until you reach 10 million. As you progress towards being a high roller more casinos and games become available and they offer higher risks and rewards. During the game you may also be approached by NPCS which based on your response can offer you money or take money.

Once you hit the 10million dollar mark you win the game

Vegas Stakes is a classic casino simulator game that was released by HAL's Laboratory in 1993. It features a single and multiplayer adventure that allows you to go to Las Vegas and hit the casinos with the aim to become high roller and earn 10 million dollars.

You start in a basic casino with low bets available but as you earn that bank you gain access to higher pay out games and other casinos. The games available are slots, blackjack, craps, roulette and a few variations of poker.

While your in the casino you can also be approached by strangers who will ask favors of you and based on your response will either deduct money from your total or end up giving you some cash in return. These events are random and offer different results every time.

The game is super is to get into and enjoy with a simplistic controller layout of a button and the d-pad. There isn't a lot of excitement in your hands however the onscreen projection is somewhat exhilarating with great atmospheric sounds and music.

 The aim is to get 10 million dollars which takes quite awhile based on the slow process speed of the game and how it runs out every hand even if you have busted out earlier. It's an achievable goal however it does require some patience and smart playing as the game does feel rigged and the house will win loads of your cash.

I had quite a bit of fun playing this game and enjoyed being able to move from casino to casino as the story evolved. There are some small story sequences built in that help provide a pretty realistic Las Vegas experience for those who have this game in their collection.
