It goes like this...First, in The Boy Who Cried Rat, Stimpy is trying his hand at being a mouse catcher - and the mouse, of course, it is I in disguise! Man, I hope that eediot doesn't eat me by mistake... Then, In The Army, I'm behind enemy lines, and up to my earbones in all sorts of bad guys! Jeez! Who wrote this episode anyway!

Story and Gameplay - 1 point
Ren and Stimpy: Veediots! is a video game based on the Ren & Stimpy cartoon series. It was released on Super Nintendo in 1993. This platformer genre game uses elements of the show to increase its likeability however it's still a bit strange till this day.
The story is based around the concept of Ren and Stimpy, cat and dog, long time friends and TV lovers. They find themselves stuck in the television and hatch a plan to escape. The objective is not clear however, there are 4 world with multiple stages joined together by story slides that introduce and finish each episode.
It begins with rats and catchers and somehow ends up with them in space, like I said a bit strange however it works with the silly slapstick antics on screen. The levels feel a bit random however the gameplay stays rather the same and only allows for basic interaction to overcome hazards, kill enemies, solve puzzles and snatch up the cash.
The 4 worlds are rather large and have a refreshing feel to each one of them with a unique design and concept, however the overall synergy of the game feels a bit to random for my liking and it doesn't help deliver a clear and enjoyable story as a whole.

This game has very basic controls and can be plays with 3 out of 6 buttons and the d-pad. It's rather stripped back and feels a little outdate but it does allow the players focus to be on screen where it needs to be with the amount of hazards.
Ren and Stimpy are both playable characters in game, however to change you must complete the first 50% of the game, which is quite a feat. Both characters do play exactly the same and only have look and sound differences.
Being a platformer, this game has a load of pickups on screen to find, which do help along the way. The most desired is cash, which refills your health bar when you find enough. Some of the pickups are set in ways to trick you into being greedy as you take damage from nearby traps, so be warned.
The game features a single player experience that has no space for a 2nd player, so Ren and Stimpy can only ever be onscreen when one of them is an AI.
Design and Difficulty - 2 points
This game was quite difficult to conquer and provided challenge after challenge which pushed play to the max. The levels are quite large, which means first you need to survive. On top of dodging everything and navigating some maze like situations, you are timed and time up means death and a restart of the level.
Unlimited continues is a wonderful thing and it is on offer when you start the journey, I needed them. The games difficulty is pretty fair alongside this infinite scheme because it gave me enough time to practice and get better at each level before proceeding. After entering enemies and layouts into my mind I was able to proceed deeper into this game and eventually win, however it did take me a few sessions due to the frustration of certain areas which are super dangerous and unexplained making them surprise life eaters.
After several plays the levels are quite memorable and that helps with return visits for this title. It wasn't super enjoyable or outstanding in many areas design wise. The game has some good colors, sounds and laughs however it all feels singular and didn't feel right.
Fun and Summary - 👍+1
Ren and Stimpy Videeots was a pretty fun game to play, however it wasn't super enjoyable along the whole journey. It's mix and match episode style concept didn't feel right as a whole and the story suffers from this. It's quite repetitive to be honest which also made me walk away easier when I was frustrated.
It's funny and its exciting at first but gets annoying once you dies a few times, drag your sorry behind through the level to just die again in the same place. The boss battles add a little excitement however they aren't as hard as the lead up to them once you figure out there weaknesses.
Overall this game is definitely for those who are persistent as it's a long haul between the section changes on screen which means you might get bored along the way if you die to many times. The episode lengths are quite good once you figure them out so you can enjoy this game for a few hours if you really try.
